HydroFacial vs. Nano Facial: which one should you book?

Nouveau Wellness Center6 min readUpdated October 2026
The short answer

Book a HydroFacial if your main goal is clean, clear, hydrated skin. Book a Nano Facial if your skin is already fairly clear and you want serums focused on hydration, tone or firmness. Many clients alternate between the two.

They are the two facials we get asked about most, and they sound similar. Both are non-invasive, both take under an hour and both leave skin looking fresher the same day. The difference is in what each one is built to do.

How a HydroFacial works

A HydroFacial is a multi-step cleansing treatment. A spiral tip moves across the skin, loosening dead surface cells and buildup, then gentle suction lifts debris out of pores. The last step delivers hydrating serums into freshly cleansed skin.

Because the focus is on clearing the skin, it is a natural first treatment if you have never had a professional facial, if your pores feel congested, or if makeup stops sitting smoothly.

How a Nano Facial works

Our Nano Facial uses Benelift nano-infusion. A tip with micro-fine points glides over the skin's surface to help serums settle into the outer layer. There are no needles and nothing that breaks the skin, so there is no recovery time.

The focus here is on delivering a targeted formula. Your esthetician chooses one of four formulas based on your goal, such as deep hydration, a more even tone or a firmer look.

How to choose your first one

Can you combine them?

Yes. A common rhythm is a HydroFacial one month to clear the skin, then a Nano Facial the next to focus on hydration or tone. Your esthetician can map out a plan at your first visit.
