CryoSkin vs. Lipo Laser: how to choose a body treatment

Nouveau Wellness Center6 min readUpdated October 2026
The short answer

Both are non-surgical and need no recovery time. CryoSkin uses controlled cooling and is a gentle way to tone specific areas. Lipo Laser pairs low-level laser with ultrasound for contouring. Your goal, the area and your timeline decide which fits.

If you are looking at body treatments, these are the two names you will see most. Here is how they differ, in plain language.

CryoSkin

CryoSkin uses a temperature-controlled applicator that keeps moving across the treatment area. Because it glides instead of clamping down, sessions are comfortable and you can return to your day right after.

It is often chosen for the belly and love handles, inner arms, outer thighs and back. Many clients pair it with EMS for a firmer, more sculpted look.

Lipo Laser with ultrasonic cavitation

Lipo Laser uses pads that deliver low-level laser energy, combined with an ultrasound wand (cavitation) worked over the area. Most clients feel gentle warmth and hear a soft hum.

It is a good fit when you want to work on more than one area in a visit, or when you are preparing for a specific date.

What a series looks like

Body contouring is not a one-visit change. Results build across sessions, usually spaced one to two weeks apart. Your esthetician will measure the area at the start so you can track progress over the series.
